Former Champion Professional Golfer Dies In Car Crash
There is a term used in professional golf to describe one who is seemingly in every tournament and may win a couple here and there. but never quite breaks through to the mainstream sports consciousness. That term is “journeyman golfer.” That could easily be applied to the career of Bart Bryant.

That’s not to say that Bart Bryant didn’t have his share of moments. He won The United States Senior Open and three times on the PGA Tour. Two of those victories (2005’s Memorial and Tour Championship) he bested none other than Tiger Woods who was nipping at his heels. Ironically, when Tiger Woods had a car crash last year, it made worldwide headlines. A car crash claimed the life of Bart Bryant on Tuesday and it took a day for the story to find my desk. Bryant and his wife Donna were driving home in their SUV when they were forced to stop behind some road construction. A truck then rear-ended their vehicle, killing Bryant and leaving his wife with minor injuries. Bart Bryant was only 59.
