How in the world did a North Carolina city rank as one of the worst cities in the country for recreation!?

We all know it’s important to stay active, not only for our physical health but for our mental health as well. But it’s not always so easy to live an active lifestyle, with some parts of the country making it easier for folks than others. So, where in the U.S. is it easiest to live an active lifestyle?

Well, WalletHub has come out with its list of the Best and Worst States in the U.S. for Recreation. They judged 100 of the largest U.S. cities on 47 factors in areas of entertainment & recreational facilities, costs, quality of parks, and weather. With that in mind, topping the list is Las Vegas, Nevada, which scores 64.23 out of 100. Vegas lands at two entertainment and recreational facilities and is in the Top 25 for quality of parks and weather. Orlando, Florida, second overall, is tops for entertainment and recreational facilities, while Chandler, Arizona is tops for costs, New York, New York is number one for quality of parks, and Riverside, California is tops for the weather.

Even though Durham came in the bottom 10, it looks like they did at least move up some spots from last year’s poll. No South Carolina city made the the list.
