According to CBS, Sprite is going green by abandoning the traditional green look it has had for six decades. The lemon-lime drink, best known for its distinctive green-colored bottles, is ditching its green-tinted look beginning Monday. This is according to a news release from Coca-Cola.
The company would be changing its packaging for the lemon-lime soda from green to clear plastic as part of an effort to reduce plastic waste. Sprite's current packaging contains green polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Although it is recyclable, it cannot be specifically recycled into new bottles.
