One person lost their life near Hilton Head, South Carolina on Monday, the victim of an alligator attack.

It happened in an adult only community near Sun City, Hilton Head.  I have friends that live in that community and they say alligators are spotted regularly.  There are many ponds and bodies of water in the neighborhood.

When rescuers found the woman's body they say the alligator appeared to be guarding it.  To learn more about this story get all the details from Channel 9.
