“Lost” Star Finds Way To New Show
There was a time when Matthew Fox was set to become one of the biggest stars in the world. He first came into the pop culture zeitgeist as “Charlie Salinger” on the original “Party of Five” that aired on Fox in the 1990s (one of Debbie’s fave shows). Then, in the early 2000s, he was “Jack Shepherd” on ABC’s phenomenon, “Lost.” He did a major motion picture after that, playing a villain in “Alex Cross.” Then, Matthew Fox seemingly disappeared. There were rumors he was blackballed for unfounded allegations of being an abuser of women. I stress, NOT ONE WOMAN ever made this claim. It came from a co-star on “Lost.” Officially, Fox says he took the better part of 7 years off of acting to be with his young family. Anyway, he’s back with a new thriller TV series on Peacock that looks spectacular.
“Last Light” is a five-episode binger-in-the-making that bows on Peacock September 8. Here’s the show’s official synopsis: “When the world’s supply of fossil fuels begins to fail, transportation grinds to a halt, mass panic erupts in the streets, and law enforcement becomes overwhelmed. Petro-chemist Andy Nielson (played by Fox) may be the only person who can rectify the situation, but his expertise in the field suddenly makes him a prime target for what appears to be a group of terrorists, who may have had a hand in sabotaging one of the planet’s most precious natural resources.” ALL.
