Farmers Market Returns To Belmont For The First Time In Five Years
So happy to see this news because my garden is just about played out for the season. The Gaston Gazette says the Farmers Market will return to Belmont, North Carolina for the first time in five years starting next month.
This will be locally grown vegetables and right now no crafts or jewelry will be sold at the market. It all gets going on September 22 from 3:30 to 7 on Glenway Street. This is perfect timing for those of us that love farm fresh vegetables.
It will be possible for restaurants to get discounts on the locally grown veggies, bringing foodies a true local farm to table experience. Belmont is quickly becoming a destination when going over options on where to go out for a delicious bite to eat. I am very happy to see it!

See Just How Many Fruits and Vegetables North Carolina Consumes
Diets rich in fruits and vegetables contribute to a healthy immune system and prevent chronic conditions. Despite the recent popularity of a more plant-based diet and lifestyle, most Americans do not consume enough fruits and vegetables. Only 12.3% of Americans are eating fruit and 10% are eating a daily serving of veggies. The 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend that adults eat 1.5-2 cups of fruits and 2-3 cups of vegetables daily.
Citing data collected through the 2019 Risk Behavior Surveillance System by the CDC, Thistle compiled state-level data on fruit and vegetable consumption. States are ranked highest to lowest. This is by the percent of the adult population consuming less than one serving of fruit per day. Data was not available for New Jersey. Check out the data below to see how your state stacks up, or look at the national fruit and vegetable consumption ranking here.
