Hollywood Celebrities Think They Don’t Have To Follow Water Rationing Rules
Sylvester Stallone, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Hart, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are among the more than 2,000 customers issued “notices of exceedance” by their Municipal Water District. Their properties are now subject to the installation of flow restrictor devices which can reduce showers to a trickle and silence lawn sprinklers.
Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union said the problem was with their swimming pool leaking, and Sly and his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Jennifer Flavin, say they had to water the 500-plus mature trees on their property.
Water District spokesman Mike McNutt hopes celebrities will use their influence to show others what a more drought-tolerant California could look like, asking them to “step up to the plate” and set an example.
