Man Breaks Record For Floating In Giant Pumpkin
All I could think of when I read about Duane Hanson today was, if I was on the Missouri River-fishing, or waterskiing-and I looked to my right (or left) and saw a man doing that, I’d immediately think someone had spiked my beer with a hallucinogenic. You see, Nebraska native Hanson set a new world record the other day when he paddled 38 miles down the Missouri in an enormous, hollowed-out pumpkin.
“Nothing to see here…just a redneck, his kayak paddle, and a pumpkin the size of Fred Flinstone’s car!” The pumpkin weighed 846 lb. Six hours after Hanson put on a life jacket and a baseball cap and started paddling, he’d topped the old record by 12.5 miles. Who even knew such a record existed?!
