We have a skunk family that lives on our property. Being new to country life a few years ago, I mistook them for black and white kittens when I saw them from a distance but they are indeed skunks:) They are great. They do their thing and we do ours and happily respect each others personal space.

I know what happens when you get too close. The smell is unmistakable.

One animal control officers spotted a skunk in Canada where he works and the poor little thing had a peanut butter jar stuck to its. He couldn't make it long in this condition so the officer took action.
