South Carolina County Decides To Now Enforce “No Praying Before Games Policy”
According to WSOC TV, a tradition before high school football games in Lancaster County is causing controversy. If you attended a game, you might have noticed the beginning of every game with is started with a prayer.
Suddenly the school district says it will be enforcing a decades-old policy that would prevent that from happening. School officials said they were told that an announcer at one high school has been praying before games. Seems like that has been going on for a long time. But school officials just noticed it?
The prayer has now been shut down. Fans attending Friday night’s football game against Andrew Jackson High School said the prayer before the game was abruptly shut down before kickoff. The school district says the policy was put in place in 2000.
It requires announcers to read the sportsman’s creed followed by a moment of silence before sporting events. Looks like some announcers have not been following that procedure and instead prayed over the PA system before the games. How do you feel about praying before games?
