The whole world is mourning the passing of England’s longest ruling monarch, Queen Elizabeth the Second. We are just discovering a little-known fact about the beloved ruler. She has a unique tie to the state of North Carolina. Yes, of course we are one of England’s thirteen original colonies but there is something else.
Thanks to Channel 9, we now know that the Queen attended her very first American football game right here in the tar heel state. Not exactly sure why she was here in 1957, but according to the television station she attended a Chapel Hill vs Maryland game way back then.

Twitter Pays Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II
Celebrities and political figures alike took to Twitter to share their condolences to the Royal Family and share their heartbreak over Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on Thursday (September 8).
After being put under medical watch at Balmoral castle in Scotland, the Queen, aged 96, died peacefully. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth. He has been named King to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
