Tanner In The Morning

Weekdays 5:00AM - 10:00AM

This retired New York City police officer happened to be at the right place at the right time at Lake Norman yesterday.

What could have been a fatal incident turned into a rescue when a man’s car ran off the road into Lake Norman.  It all happened around 3 pm yesterday.  The retired officer lives nearby and saw what happened.

Details are still coming in, but we do know, according to Channel 9 that after the retired officer saw the car go into the water, he dove in to save the guy.  He was actually able to unbuckle the passenger of the car and release him, saving the man’s life.  To learn more, get all the details here from WSOCTV.  Wow! We are pretty sure this is the very definition of a hero.  Although this man retired from public service, it is obvious he still has a heart for helping and saving others from dangerous situations.
