Hurricane Ian Forces Some South Carolina High Schools To Move Games
As Hurricane Ian heads towards the Carolinas, many football teams in the area look to move up their scheduled games. The National Weather Service forecasts gusts up to 20 mph by mid-week. Rains could start Friday. Some schools are moving varsity games to Thursday. Freshman and junior varsity games could slide into Wednesday’s schedule or possibly cancel.
The Catawba Ridge vs. South Pointe matchup moves to Thursday at 7 p.m., as does Lancaster at Northwestern. Nation Ford meets Clover Thursday at 7. And Woodruff at Chester will play Thursday at 7. Rock Hill and Spring Valley, Cheraw and Andrew Jackson, CA Johnson and Lewisville, Fort Mill at Blythewood, Indian Land and York, and Great Falls at Whitmire all move to Thursday at 7:30. Depending on changes in the forecast, more games may be moved. Be sure to check with your individual schools for up to date information.
