Tanner In The Morning

Weekdays 5:00AM - 10:00AM

According to Star News, Tropical Storm Ian is getting stronger. It is heading for Florida. It will make its way across land and head for the Carolinas by this weekend.

While the path is still somewhat uncertain, current tracking models show Ian pushing into the western side of Florida or possibly closer to the Panhandle by the middle of the week. Significant wind and storm surge impacts are possible on the Florida coast.

Once the storm makes landfall in Florida as a hurricane it should weaken. It could move inland up through Georgia and into the Carolinas by next weekend. That means we could be in for some high winds, and localized flooding as the remnants of Ian cross over the Carolinas.

It would make sense to prepare for some possible power outages. The tracking of the storm will make all the difference, but more than likely, North Carolina and South Carolina will be hit with some ugly weather.
