Heavy sigh.  As much as I love to point the spotlight on crazy in this world, it always grieves me when the object of the light shines on someone from my home state of Texas.  Texans, by nature, are an arrogant sort and are raised to believe that because they are Texans, they are just better than everyone else.  I didn't recognize this while spending the first 23 years of my life there.  This epiphany only occurred once I left.  Anyway, back to the spotlight of crazy.  Today I shine it upon crazy Texas mom Jamie Gooch.  We originally talked about this on the radio show last week, but even then I thought (or perhaps desperately hoped) that this was some sort of reject Saturday Night Live sketch.  Alas, it is not.  Jamie Gooch is convinced that the new movie, "Hocus Pocus 2" is coming for our children.

Some of the more spectacular/disturbing quotes from this (In case you missed them). When it comes to the movie "Hocus Pocus 2": "It grieves me the thought of exposing our kids to darkness...The whole movie is based on witches harvesting children for blood sacrifices...Everyone thinks it's fake and innocent, but they could be casting any type of spell that they want to. Anything could be coming through that TV screen into your home...A worst-case scenario is that you unleash hell on your kids and your home."  Now, as cuckoo as this sounds, I could ALMOST defend it if the movie was being shown in theaters and there were reports of violence at showings.  I could almost defend it if there were reports of random abductions of children at showings.  "Hocus Pocus 2" is strictly available on the Disney+ streaming service.  So, it is only being consumed through your television, phone, or tablet.  I'm willing to believe a lot.  I'm not willing to believe Bette Midler as a witch in a movie is the end of us all.  Bottom line?  This Halloween season, be careful out there.  Beware of the Jamie Gooch's in the world.  They're out there.  And apparently, they are reproducing!  Can you imagine being this woman's kids?  What abuse from their peers are THEY taking?
