Tennessee is Cleverly Asking Fans To Help Pay For That Torn Down Goalpost
It’s been 16 years in the making and I can tell you for a fact, it was a glorious weekend for University of Tennessee fans. My sister and brother in law graduated from there and trust me when I say, they bleed orange. They took me to several games in Knoxville and I get it. Tennessee football is magic and you can’t help but catch that orange fire.
Naturally fans went crazy when they beat Alabama 52-49 in Neyland Stadium. It was a huge orange crush on to the field for sure and fans got so caught up they tore down the goalpost.
Well, I get the excitement but the thing is… that was dangerous and expensive! The University of Tennessee is cleverly asking for donations to put a goalpost back. Donations can be made in tiers. $16 is the first level as ode to the number of seasons since they beat Alabama. $52.49 for the final score or $1,019.15 as a nod to the number of seats filled at the stadium. Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney were in attendance.
