Chef Luca Annunziata's Forchetta is a shining example of what we've found to be a universal dining truth over the years. When it comes to non-chain restaurants, those that are most successful have a kitchen run by someone whose passion for their food can be tasted in every dish. Forchetta is 100% an Italian restaurant. Every dish is hand-crafted by Chef Luca-many of which are direct from his beloved, native Naples.

From soups and salads to wonderful apps to unreal entrées, you'll never go wrong. And don't even get me started on the wine list, cocktail variety or gourmet coffees and desserts!

As for Chef Luca? He's totally legit. He's been the recipient of many culinary honors including the esteemed Zagat Platinum Award for Excellence. And The Food Network has knocked on his door more than once.  In addition to the video above, Luca also won the popular "Chopped" competition show.  Well, this Monday (Halloween), Forchetta and Chef Luca have come up with an appropriately "spooky" way to enjoy your food.  In fact, you've probably never enjoyed your food like this before.

Dining In The Dark

"No tricks, only treats from Forchetta this Halloween. Join us for a spooktacular, 5-course meal curated by the one and only Chef Luca. Allow us to take your senses on a journey as we invite guests to wear eye masks and blindly indulge in a dinner consisting of a secret menu that will be kept quiet until the end of the event with a big reveal."  "Dining in the Dark?"  What?!  As intriguing as this sounds (and my wife is SOOOO wanting to indulge), I have trouble successfully landing the forked food in my mouth when I can see what I'm doing.  I cannot imagine the disaster I court by trying to do this blindfolded.  For something like this, from someone as renown and admired as Chef Luca, the price is unbelievably reasonable ($75).  Get your tickets now: forchettadininginthedark.eventbrite.com
