Have you ever heard your parents or grandparents talk about how everything used to cost a nickel? Well, it’s not quite that cheap but, for one day only, Showmars is rolling back the price on one of their signature menu items so much that even Pawpaw will be impressed.

According to the Charlotte Observer, you’ll be able to reel in one of Showmars’ World Famous Fish Sandwiches for just 40 cents on Tuesday, November 1st. 40 cents! The restaurant chain is doing this in honor of its 40th anniversary. George Couchell opened the first Showmars in Charlotte back in 1982.

This tasty deal is only available at Showmars’ Charlotte-area locations. Sorry, Winston-Salem. All you have to do is drop by on Tuesday, November 1st between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and order the World Famous Fish Sandwich. In-store only, one sandwich per transaction.

List: 7 North Carolina Born Fast Food Chains

People have strong opinions about their fast food chains. Especially the more regional chains. But did you know that North Carolina was the birthplace of several fast food restaurants? I for sure have a clear favorite on this list. Though I also have strong opinions about some of the newer locations they’ve opened. My own personal “walk uphill both ways” bias.

Did your favorite North Carolina fast food chain main the list? Did we miss some? Let us know!
