Are The Carolina Panthers Cursed In National TV Appearances?
The Panthers face their all-time biggest foe Thursday night: National television. Here’s a (partial) list of all the trouble that has befallen the Panthers when they’re on the national stage.
- In last September’s Thursday Night Fooball game against Houston, running back Christian McCaffrey went down with a hamstring injury. If memory serves, it’s the same game that took out cornerback Jaycee Horn with a foot injury.
- In December of 2016, Cam Newton was benched for the first series on Sunday Night Football for not wearing a tie or something.
- In November of 2016 (Thursday Night Football), Luke Kuechly suffered a concussion. This was a painful one to watch because Kuechly cried after being taken out of the game.
I’m not even going to mention the two Super Bowl losses on the biggest television stage of them all. Do you remember other national TV misfortunes for the Panthers? Hit me up at [email protected].
