Earlier this week, Food Network's Ree Drummond announced the death of a beloved family member.  Details surfaced about the Pioneer Woman's father in law and the funeral.  A lifelong rancher, Chuck Drummond was given a send off that appeared as if it were straight out of Yellowstone.   Cowboys on horseback led the funeral procession on their massive Oklahoma ranch.  According to People magazine, the family ranks among the top 20 land owning families in the country.  The family's combined acreage totals approximately 400,000.  Ree says family meant the world to her father-in-law.  And, he was always supportive of her career.   He appeared several times on her show.  She says he lived a full life and loved his work.  Her children shared memories of their "PaPa" on social media.  One truly heartfelt moment came on a recent visit between Chuck and granddaughter Paige.  She recounted what he told her that day.

She said he told her, "If you're ever out working on the ranch on a hot summer day, and you feel a cool breeze passing by, just know that it's me...and then get back to work."  She says that's how she'll always think of him.  And, also she'll think of him whenever she sees a pack of Marlboro cigarettes.  Ree also added that in the 26 years of her marriage to Ladd, she and Chuck never had a conflict.  And, he handed out her cookbooks to everyone he knew.  Chuck's wife, Nan, died in 2018.  She says she thinks of their souls as reunited now in celebration.  Ree thanked him for his legacy and for letting them all be a part of it.

The Instagram post also includes the pictures of cowboys on horseback leading the procession.  It's perfect way to honor the Pioneer Woman's father in law. And, it's a beautiful image fitting for a true cowboy.
