Gwen Stefani Reveals Her Strange Retirement Gift For Blake Shelton

Author Catherine Lane
November 16th, 2022 7:56 AM

When my husband Rick retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, I gave him a trip to St Thomas.  When Blake Shelton retires from ‘The Voice’ Gwen Stefani has something much different in mind for his retirement present.

I mean what do you give a guy that has everything?  Gwen Stefani tells Entertainment Tonight that she might just get him something she knows he loves. “This is crazy cause everyone is coming after me for ideas and it’s hard cause he really does have everything”.

She goes to say she may just get him a bag of deer corn, “honestly he would be so thrilled”.  She is also considering a bag of fertilizer.  Rich people y’all!  Rich People! More details from Billboard magazine.

Blake Shelton's Top 10 Music Videos, Ranked

Blake Shelton has done his share of music videos throughout his career and many of them shine. We take a look at what we believe are Blake’s top 10 Official Music Videos ranging from 2001 to today (2021).

  • 10. Austin (2001)

This was Blake Shelton’s first music video. It shows Blake standing in front of a red 1968 first-generation Ford Mustang and projector screen with a woman on it.

  • 9. Lonely Tonight (ft. Ashley Monroe) (2014)

The video shows Blake and Ashley in fancy cars in the big city (Los Angeles) singing to each other. The video ends with them meeting in a room on top of a skyscraper. The song received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

  • 8. Minimum Wage (2021)

A top-notch performance video on a song that Blake had to defend after fans first hear it and said, “What does this rich guy know about minimum wage?”Blake responded to all the critics by telling CMT that he “related to the lyrics so much” and “just like probably 95 percent of artists out there, he struggled for so long to get by.”

  • 7. I Lived It (2018)

This music video for this song features photographs from Shelton’s childhood and teenage years, interspersed with flashbacks and footage of Blake performing. It was filmed north of Los Angeles.

  • 6. Hillbilly Bone (featuring Trace Adkins) (2009)

In the video, Blake and Trace enter Nashville’s fancy Stockyard restaurant appearing out-of-place in their cowboy hats and jeans. The other diners at first appear skeptical, but after Shelton and Adkins begin singing they become interested. Eventually, everyone in the restaurant is up and dancing, while they perform.

  • 5. God's Country (2020)

An emotional video showing what Blake deems as God’s Country. The video features clips from the past of farmers and Blake in beautiful parts of the rural countryside.

  • 4. Ol’ Red (2002)

This video classic shows Blake portraying a prisoner in jail and working with other prisoners. It features a cameo by NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler (as his cousin), Bobby Braddock (as a prison inmate), who produced Shelton’s version, J.K. Simmons (as the warden), and Kirsti Manna (who co-wrote Blake’s previous hit “Austin,” as Blake’s bailiff). It was filmed at the Tennessee State Prison.

  • 3. Happy Anywhere (featuring Gwen Stefani) (2020)

The video was produced by Todd Stefani, Gwen’s younger brother, who was a guest at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch home during the COVID-19 pandemic. It shows the couple hanging out and having fun at Shelton’s farm, on the beach, and in the recording studio. It also shows clips of Stefani’s three boys on a boat with Blake and Gwen.

  • 2. Come Back As A Country Boy (2021)

The video begins in space where a fireball lands down to earth to start a bonfire. Blake drinks a beer in front of the bonfire and then sings directly to the camera dressed in camo. In one part of the video, a guitar player plays a solo right out of the fire. In a black hat, Blake sings on top of a mountain with a beer in his hand and even knocks a tree into a pond.

  • 1. Nobody but You (with Gwen Stefani) (2020)

Showing the happy couple doing fun things together from riding around in a truck to performing the song on stage. The official music video for “Nobody but You” was filmed throughout November and December 2019 in Los Angeles and near Shelton’s ranch in rural Oklahoma. Shelton said upon the video’s release:”There is no way I am going to have a duet with Gwen Stefani and not make a music video. She is drop-dead beautiful and if I can have her in one of my videos, people actually look at my video for once in my entire career, you’re damn right we’re gonna do the video.”
