What Was North and South Carolina’s Favorite Shows in 2022?

Are you a fan of binging your favorite television show? There were so many great shows and seasons that came through for the 2022 year. Streaming services have taken over the way we watch television shows and the amount of time we spend bingeing one that we love.  In 2021, there were over 500 original scripted television shows. This does not include reality television shows or reruns of older shows on streaming.

High Speed Internet released each state's favorite show in 2022. With so many shows and series coming out, it is almost hard to watch every single one and stay up to date. But there are a few that are top tier which is your favorite. The three most popular streaming services include Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+. Coming from someone with a lot of streaming service subscriptions, those are some of my favorites for sure. Between those three services, they include over 400 million global subscribers. For 2022, the most popular show in the U.S. was Euphoria. I can 100% agree because I am included in the group of people that caught every new episode every single week. The show was the No. 1 show in 38 states across the country with an average 16.3 million viewers for season 2. But, did it take home the No. 1 spot in the Carolinas?

North Carolina's favorite show to watch in 2022 was Euphoria! Let's be honest, this second season of Euphoria was one to die for. Top tier entertainment for those really intrigued by the show. South Carolina, on the other hand, had another favorite. South Carolina's favorite show to watch in 2022 was Stranger Things. Another goodie for the series lovers. Stranger Things was America's second favorite show to watch this year. Stranger Things is the No. 1 show in either states across the country.

The University analyzed Google Trends search volume for 80 shows in the medical drama category between January 1, 2012, and January 1, 2022, using Wikipedia's list of medical drama television shows. This is how North Carolina and other nearby states ranked for their favorite show.

General Hospital is the most popular medical drama in North Carolina. Historically popular shows like Chicago Fire and ER were shut out, with zero states selecting those shows as their most popular medical drama. General Hospital led the way, earning the title of most popular medical drama in four different states.
