The Best Winter Destination In North Carolina
So, you have a little time off over the holidays or maybe you are just down for a day trip. Here is the best winter destination in North Carolina.
According to a recent study in Readers Digest, the best winter destination in North Carolina is Asheville!
Tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a short drive from Charlotte or where I live in Clover, Asheville has been called the “Paris of the South”. It is home to America’s largest castle, Biltmore House ( a must-see in my opinion). Biltmore also has INCREDIBLE Christmas decorations. Downtown Asheville is known more and more for its music and arts scene. The food is incredible and if you like beer, there is plenty for you to sample at various spots throughout the city. I always have a little time at the end of the year and 99% of the time we do head to the mountains. One of our favorite spots is Valle Crucis right outside of Boone. It boasts our favorite Inn of all time the Mast Farm Inn, and our favorite romantic restaurant, Over Yonder. Here are pics of a few of our adventures in Asheville and the surrounding areas. Enjoy!
