Why Isn’t Bacon Resealable? TikToker Goes Viral And I Agree
It’s the little things in life that tend to bring on the biggest debate sometimes. And, all this time I thought I was alone in my pondering of the bacon packaging. Why isn’t bacon resealable? The frustration is real. Depending on the size of your family, most people won’t cook up an entire package of bacon upon opening it. So, wouldn’t it make sense for the bacon folks to simply put the bacon in one of those packages with the zipper? According to Today.com, a TikTok user went viral bringing up the same point I’ve wondered in silence for years. Like me, she says after opening and cooking a few slices she needs to place it in a separate zip bag. Otherwise, after storage in the fridge, it dries out. Obviously, there is a recommended safe span of time to store it once it’s open before needing to toss it out. But, for those few days who wants an open pack of half used bacon?
TikToker Kat Thomas proclaims, “bacon packaging is the worst thing to ever exist!” Of course, even though it’s meant for fun she does bring up a valid point. Why isn’t bacon resealable? People just like me all over support the point she raises. And, some of them even jokingly pondered if the zip bag people and the bacon people were in “cahoots.” LOL. She pointed out that hot dogs come with the zip bag, so why not bacon? While Thomas’ pack was Oscar Mayer, another bacon maker, Applegate, issued a statement. They say consumers typically use their 8 oz. packages in one session. However, it’s a topic they consider in “expanding their bacon portfolio.” But, in the meantime I finally feel heard and seen thanks to Thomas’ viral rant…wink wink.
@theeekatthomas I hate bacon packaging! It’s the WORST #bacon #DoritosTriangleTryout #humor #oscarmeyer
