Extreme Athletes On Display in Bryson City, North Carolina

I usually don't pay much attention to things that pop up on my Facebook timeline from the past.  Been there, done that.  Life's about moving forward and you can't do that when you're looking in the rear-view mirror.  That being said, I'm so glad I clicked on this over the weekend.  Two years ago, January was similar to the January we're experiencing now in the Piedmont of North Carolina.  Sure, it's been cold, but no snow.  And when you live with a lady who likes her winter complete with at least one coating of white, fluffy, magic, this can be problematic.  So, we grabbed our tag team partners in crime, Jeff and Sherry, and headed for the mountains of North Carolina for the weekend in search of winter's blanket.  We booked a beautiful log cabin in Bryson City, headed north, and...no snow.  Wait, like a surprise visit from Santa, we went to sleep on Saturday night and when we woke up?  Four inches of winter white had covered our world.  Our wives were ecstatic.  How ecstatic?

They insisted on going sledding.  One problem.  We didn't have any sleds.  However, and this is a lesson guys, sometimes you must improvise.  The mat from the back of the SUV we were in would work, right?  Well, kind of.  We've had adventures all over creation with this two, and we always have a blast.  This video though, may best sum up our relationship.  So, if your family is looking for winter fun, head north.  It's there.  Bring a sled though.
