Some Charlotte, North Carolina High School students are making national news after building a prosthetic leg for a cancer stricken dog. This sweet pup was making his way around in life with only three legs until students from Providence Day School stepped in to help.
When their math teacher, Ashley Liberto got her new puppy Bentley, she knew she had found her new best friend. She knew her life had just changed for the better. Is there anything cuter than a golden retriever puppy? No there is not and Bentley was and is a cutie. Ashley and Bentley had a wonderful 8 years together until Ashley noticed a problem.
According to Channel 36 in Charlotte, Ashley noticed that Bentley had a swollen elbow and ultimately he was diagnosed with a form of cancer. She got the upsetting news that the leg would have to be amputated. Bentley was getting around ok on three legs but then the high school students stepped in to make his life even better.
Liberto's students designed and produced a prosthetic leg for Bentley. They say it needs a little tweaking but is full functioning and making life so much better for this sweet guy. To learn more about this story, get details from Channel 36 WCNC TV. Congrats to these Charlotte students for building a prosthetic leg for this sweet cancer stricken dog. Oh by the way, Bentley is now cancer free!
