Charlotte, NC Getting A New Restaurant With Rooftop Bar

Axios says that Charlotte's South End will soon have a new place to wind down after work. State of Confusion is a popular restaurant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It’s known for its expansive menu, cocktails, and family-friendly environment.

From the same owners as STIR in South End, State of Confusion promises to offer something for everybody.

The two-story building is roughly 9,000 square feet and can seat 500-600 people. Owner Jamie Walton said, “It’ll be dog-friendly and family-friendly.”

The rooftop will have cabanas, inspired by the owners’ trips to Miami. The downstairs area will have an outdoor patio with a grill, fire pits, large games like Connect Four, and picnic tables for seating. The main indoor dining room will have murals and a large bar, with the large kitchen as its centerpiece.

Everything will be made from scratch. They’ll also have an Argentinian wood fire grill, which they’ll use to make steak and burgers. The owners sent their executive chef to Peru for two weeks to learn how to make ceviche “from the best.” Their brunch menu will also include chicken and funnel cakes breakfast burritos and breakfast burgers. In addition to beer and seltzers, they’ll also have three cocktails on draft. Enjoy the hurricane, a margarita, and the “Tropa,” an Aperol cocktail with papaya puree.

State of Confusion is at 255 Clanton Road. It should open its doors in March.

There's something just so American about roadside attractions. We've all been on the family road trip and seen the gimmicky roadside attractions they hope you'll stop at. No matter what part of the country you are traveling through you will find these tourist traps on backroads. I'm sorry to admit I have never stopped, even though there are a lot of rather interesting roadside attractions in North Carolina. I did drive by one mentioned on the list, in Thomasville, on my way to a dance competition years ago. Couples were taking prom photos in front of a giant chair. That memory has stuck with me for years!

There are also some things I'd classify as 'oddities' a term I can't remember the last time I used. And finally, there are just some interesting attractions you may have not known our state had.
