One of the things I’ve always loved about being on the radio is everything we do on air is live without a net. You only get one take and it’s out there, warts and all. Anything can and does happen on a “hot mic.” Although a lot of what you see on TV is pre-recorded, “The View” is live each weekday on ABC. And yesterday, those ladies were having to deal with a question they did not expect. “Who farted?!” During a very serious segment on The View, a fart can be heard during the discussion of one of the many topics, which has many people talking online. The hosts did giggle after the noise erupted, but they continued to discuss the topic of classified documents. Many fans online are wondering who was the one to pass gas on air, but none of the hosts have fessed up to this ‘cutting the cheese’ moment. This isn’t the first time one of the hosts let one rip live on tv. In 2014, Whoopi Goldberg farted during an episode that prompted a response from Rosie O’Donnell.
First of all, these ladies need to learn how to “no sell” a fart. Act like nothing happened and no one will know the wiser. Anything that’s picked up by the microphones can be easily passed off as something else. You’d be surprised what you can make “sound like a fart.” And two, can their engineers not mic up the desk? There’s no need. The clip-on microphones that are in use on each cast member are more than adequate. There’s no need to tempt fate.
