WWE Hall Of Famer In Critical Condition
A World Wresting Entertainment Hall of Fame member is in critical condition in Florda. Jerry “The King” Lawler has been a professional wrestling icon for the better part of fifty years. As an in-ring participant, he was not only a world champion (AWA), but basically was the defacto mayor of Memphis. Additionally, his famous feud with the late comedian, Andy Kaufman was groundbreaking.
It was reported around lunchtime yesterday that “The King” had been hospitalized with a “serious medical incident.” Action News 5 in his hometown in Memphis later detailed that Lawler had suffered a stroke. He underwent emergency surgery soon after.
Although majorly accomplished as a wrestler, for most fans, Jerry “The King” Lawler is best known as the longtime “color commentator” of Monday Night Raw. Jim Ross was his partner all those years and posted this to Twitter last night.
I spoke very briefly with @JerryLawler tonight.

He’s obviously weak but I could understand his affected speech.
Jerry’s prognosis is positive but he needs all our thoughts and prayers. #LoveYaKing pic.twitter.com/5pkunLriHm
This is not his first stroke. “The King” suffered one three years ago in 2018. Then famously, in September of 2012, Lawler suffered a heart attack live on television while doing his thing on “Monday Night Raw.”
Jerry “The King” Lawler was able to kick out of that potential three-count. All our thoughts and prayers that he is able to do so once again in this time of crisis.
