Any of us who watch Food Network daily are familiar with Guy Fieri and "Flavortown."  So, for those who don't know, that is the nickname the celebrity chef gives to his competition arenas.  And, a Charlotte, North Carolina chef competed on Food Network in the famous Flavortown.  However, Chris Coleman is no stranger to competition.  Coleman holds several titles from the network including "Chopped" champion and winner of "Beat Bobby Flay."  Furthermore, he also previously appeared on "Alex vs. America."  But, this time Coleman tried his hand at "Guy's Grocery Games."  And, at stake this time was $15,000.  Plus, winners earn bragging rights with the title of "Flavortown Food Network Champion."  So, since the episode aired we issue a spoiler alert.  Unfortunately, the North Carolina chef didn't win this time.  But, Charlotte Observer reports viewers have a chance to watch his appearance on reruns.  Look for Season 29, Episode 3.

Also, other chefs Coleman competed against held winning titles similar to his.  During this competition, Fieri challenged the chefs to battle it out in Taco Night.  And, Coleman's score of 35 lost to another chef scoring 41.  Coleman is executive chef and partner at The Goodyear House in Charlotte.  And, you may know him from Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails in Rock Hill.  North Carolina seems to be a hot bed of talented chefs.  Over the years, many from the area competed on the network.  And, that must be why we have so many great restaurants around here!
