Jason Cope says he went to try on a jacket at a Goodwill store when he felt something puncturing his skin. A needle reportedly stuck the man trying on the jacket at this North Carolina Goodwill location. The incident reportedly took place at the West Charlotte Goodwill store.
A legal complaint, after this very unpleasant surprise, was filed January 30. According to Channel 9, Goodwill is not aware of the legal complaint.
Jason tells WSOC TV,” And then as soon as I went to grab it, I got stuck inside,” he said. “So I didn’t proceed to look at it because I was bleeding.” The complaint says he suffered injuries and medical bills as a result of the incident. Cope says he is suing for $25,000 and adds it really isn’t about the money he just doesn’t want anyone else getting hurt.
A spokesperson for Goodwill says they inspected the item but did not feel any sharp objects and they removed the jacket from the sales floor.
Goodwill adds they thoroughly inspect clothing items to make sure they are safe. To learn more about the incident, get all the details right here from Channel 9.
North Carolina's Favorite Vintage Clothing Era Is A Major Throwback
Recycling clothes is a great way to help save the environment. I personally love 80s vintage clothing. Since I moved to Charlotte, my thrifting game has been leveled up and you can find some fantastic vintage finds.
Nasty Gal published a new study revealing the most searched fashion era in each US state. With demand for ‘vintage clothing stores’ has increased by +400% over the past year in the United States, the vintage fashion industry has seen a surge in popularity in recent years.
The most searched vintage fashion era across America was Y2K fashion. Y2K fashion was the most popular era in most states overall, including New York, Texas, and Washington. With over 5.1 billion views of the #y2k hashtag, it seems that Gen-Z and nostalgia-loving millennials are the driving force behind the demand for clothing from the era. 90’s fashion was the second most popular vintage fashion era, followed by 80’s fashion.
