Record High Temperatures Coming To The Carolinas
Record high temperatures are coming to the Carolinas over the next few days.
We have already seen above-normal temperatures this week, but today’s high is expected to hit the mid 70s in Charlotte, with Thursday highs forecast in the low 80s. Other parts of the Carolinas are also seeing temperatures that could break records. Even the mountains could reach into the 70s Thursday.
Many of us aren’t falling for it. This is the time of year that we refer to as Fake Spring. It’s the kind of weather that gets you thinking about setting your plants outside. But Fake Spring inevitably leads to Winter’s Revenge. We were joking in the studio about how a blizzard is probably around the corner. It was just a joke, but knowing Carolinas weather, is it that far of a reach? Not at all.
According to The Weather Channel, temperatures from the Southeast to the Ohio Valley will range as much as 40 degrees above average through Thursday. Meanwhile, other parts of the country, including the Mountain West and Northern Plains, will experience temperatures up to 45 degrees colder than average.
The warm streak will indeed be short-lived. By the weekend, the Piedmont will be back in the low 50s for daytime highs, then into the 60s as we head into next week.
