Mark your calendar for March 3.  That's the date for a new family friendly self pour beer and wine bar opening in south Charlotte.  The Charlotte Observer says customers can find "Open Tap" on Carmel Center Drive.  The location is just off Carmel Road near Pineville-Matthews Rd.  And, Open Tap features 64 beers on tap, along with a shade garden.  Plus, also expect a tree house mezzanine and food truck port.  Also, the space welcomes families.  That's something the owners said was missing from the area.  So, they planned the self pour beer and wine bar where families could come together in a place with something for everyone.  Adults enjoy craft beers, and kids have a safe place to play in the enclosed outdoor space.  In addition to beer, Open Tap offers wine, seltzers, cider and craft soda.

Plus, the site points to a number of upcoming events to look forward to.  Open Tap plans an adventure club with running and bicycling.  And, there'll be yoga and meditation classes, as well as community fundraisers.  The new self pour beer and wine bar will be open 7 days a week.  And, the architecture team behind the project shared some insight to the design.  They say the goal was to pay homage to historic log cabins of the region.  However, they wanted to make sure the design was modern, as well.  Therefore, Cluck Design accomplished that with cross-laminated timber panels, making it one of the firsts like it in the area.  Pictures of the space are beautiful.  We love to visit the Courthouse self-pour in Monroe, North Carolina.  It's such a unique and fun concept.   So, make sure to pay a visit to the new self pour beer and wine bar "Open Tap" when it opens in Charlotte next month.
