We all start to think about beach vacations this time of year.  And, one of our first thoughts is usually how to pay for it.  Well, if you’re lucky you may not have to worry about it.  A seafood company is giving away a free vacation to one of three popular beaches including Hilton Head, South Carolina.  According to Thrillist.com, SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood brands want to help people experience what we all love about the ocean and the beach.  Therefore, they offer a chance to win a fully paid vacation to a winner who has never been oceanside before.  SeaPak indicates the rules are simple.  Those entering need to be at least 18, and have never been to an ocean before.  I’m not sure how they go about verifying that.  However, the winner can take themselves and up to 5 guests on the five day, four night trip.

Destinations available for the winner to choose from include St. Simons Island, Georgia, Destin, Florida or Hilton Head, South Carolina.  SeaPak spokespersons say it’s a “first in a lifetime” trip.  And, they note that about 60% of the world’s population lives more than 60 miles from an ocean.  So, if you’re interested in entering, you can do so until April 6.  The winner finds out in May.  And, if you need more information, visit their website for details.  Furthermore, the grand prize includes up to $2500 for food and beverage.  Also, they offer up to $2500 for activities and excursions.  Among other things, the seafood company giving away the free trip will ask the story of why you’ve never seen the ocean, what you’re excited about it and who you’ll take and why.

  Burkes Beach is a mid-island beach on Hilton Head Island. It is located right next to Chaplin Community Park and is a great beach to visit on a bike, as well as one to take your dog too.

  North Carolina isn’t the only state with island paradise beaches. Just look to Burkes Beach in the ever-popular Hilton Head Island for proof. Burkes Beach is often considered the more local of the island’s beaches, meaning it’s both a bit more relaxed and comes with fewer restaurants nearby. That said, the trade-off of peace and quiet just might be worth having to pack a sandwich.

  Nags Head is located in the northern area of the Outer Banks adjacent to Jockey Ridge State Park. You’ll find plenty of places to stay- beach houses, seaside motels, and hotels with a view. Shopping- there are boutiques, surf shops, an outlet mall, and grocery stores. And of course, restaurants for everyone with fine dining to barbecue to casual bites and always exceptional seafood.

For the ultimate in solitude on the Outer Banks, head to Nags Head and its 12 miles of sandy shoreline. The town boasts a variety of lodging options and is perfect for family fun.  Emerald Isle is known for its watersports, fishing (onshore, offshore, and on the Bogue Inlet Pier), or simply relaxing on the beach and enjoying the sound of the waves rolling in.
