According to a new article by Finance Buzz, some tickets raise your insurance cost more than others.

As you’re rushing home from a long day, you may have failed to stop fully at a stop sign, went a bit too far above the speed limit, or may have been in a school zone and didn’t know it.

Any type of moving violation on your driving record could lead to an increase in your car insurance costs. If you want to save money on car insurance, you’ll want to avoid any tickets.

What you may not realize is that some types of tickets will raise your car insurance premium even more than others.

11. Following too closely ... Insurance rate increase: 23.3% or about $342

10. Improper passing ... Insurance rate increase: 23.4% or about $344

9. Passing a school bus ... Insurance rate increase: 27% or about $398

WSOC-TV says multiple cities in North Carolina have been named the best places to drive in the United States. Ok, that may not seem right, but it's true.

According to a new report this week from WalletHub, three NC cities were ranked in the top five places to drive based on driver behaviors and local infrastructure. Charlotte made the top 30. It came in at number 26.
