A group of Palmetto state chefs got a “golden ticket” so to speak.  The chefs from South Carolina now head to The Annual “Ultimate Food Fight” in Dallas, Texas in November.  The Super Regional Qualifier event took place earlier this month.  And, Chris Williams, Maegan Horton and Cody Ross join “Team Lake Murray Country.”  According to the Cayce West Columbia News, 20 chefs took part in the regional qualifier.  Their assignment consisted of creating their best samples for a crowd of over 800 guests.  Voting done in a “people’s choice” type style considered the samples to choose the team.

Chef Chris Williams comes to the competition from Roy’s Grille in Irmo, South Carolina, where he is also the owner.  Chris represented in 2022 as SC Chef Ambassador.  Chef Maegan Horton comes to the competition as Executive Chef at Blue Marlin in Columbia, South Carolina.  Blue Marlin’s website boasts of bringing African, West Indian and Caribbean flavors to the Low Country, while peppering in Cajun and Creole influence.  And, Chef Cody Ross of Smoked in Columbia, brings the casual fine dining vibe.  Smoked’s website points to bringing land and sea together in a restored historic setting.  Owned by siblings, Smoked features smoked meats and oysters as part of the menu.  Kudos to these talented chefs from South Carolina proudly representing the Palmetto State.  The 11th Annual “Ultimate Food Fight” takes place in Dallas November 8-12.
