A Maserati and several BMW’s were stolen in an overnight break-in at Adams Auto Group on Independence Boulevard.

The thefts happened in the overnight hours on February 27.  According to police reports, the thieves broke into the dealership building and found keys for several cars that were on the showroom floor.  Then they simply started the cars and drove them away.  The stolen cars had a combined value of more than $300,000.  We reached out, but Adams Auto Group did not have any comment on the thefts.

The theft is similar to another incident in the same area, also in February.  Thieves found keys and stole cars at Rick Hendrick’s City Chevrolet on Independence Boulevard on Feb. 5.

Charlotte Crime Stoppers is looking for information on the Adams Auto Group thefts.  A reward is also being offered.  If you have information, call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704.334.1600

“Yeah, they’re pretty high-end cars so we’re hoping someone recognizes the vehicles being driven in the area or they may have some insight or knowledge in reference to these individuals that committed this crime,” Detective Rick Smith from Charlotte Crime Stoppers told WJZY-TV.

Here is a list of the stolen vehicles:

  • -Maserati Ghibli S Grandsport
  • -BMW 840i
  • -BMW 850i
  • -BMW 760i
