There is no shortage of strange diets or diet fads we've heard about over the years.  In fact, just the other day we saw a guy on "The Today Show" who is living for 100 days on nothing but McDonalds.  FYI, he's cutting everything in half at each meal, but each meal consists of nothing but McDonald's food.  10 days in, he's already lost 12.5 pounds.

This is just the latest in a long and distinguished line of strange and/or fad diets.  Writing this makes me miss my late mother-in-law.  If it was a weird diet, she was either up for it or had tried it.  My favorite was when she did "The Cabbage Soup Diet."  Not only was it disgusting from a taste standpoint, but according to her, the gastrointestinal distress it caused was unbearable.  And that leads directly to this guy.

A man from India claims he had subsisted on a diet of coconut-exclusively-for the last 28 years.  Apparently, he had been diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease.  To soothe this, he began eating coconut (who knew this was nature's Nexium?!).  The results were so good, he decided, "What the heck, I'll just eat coconut."

Now, what this has to do with "The Cabbage Soup Diet."  Coconut and coconut water are a natural diuretic.  If this is all he's eating, he's probably able to stay in shape just from all the running to the bathroom he does.

March is National Nutrition Month, and in anticipation, the most popular TikTok diet trends in the US have been revealed. The data was compiled and analyzed by food sensitivity specialist YorkTest. They researched the most viewed diet-related hashtags on TikTok, to come up with a list of the most popular trends in 2022.

Leading the way was keto the low-carb, high-fat diet. It's so popular that it has over ten billion views and not just that, it's almost double the number of views than any other diet or eating lifestyle. They found that an average of 550,000 Americans search for ‘keto diet’ each month on Google. The demand for keto-focused recipes is extremely high.

This comes at a time when anti-diet culture is gaining momentum and while things like intuitive eating and holistic health did make this list they have substantially fewer views than other trends.
