The city of Kannapolis once again welcomes the Jiggy With The Piggy Festival to North Carolina in May.  And, this year popular country artist Travis Denning performs on Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m.  We love Travis for his hits "After A Few" and "David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs."  The festival kicks off May 4 and continues through May 7.  And, Jiggy With The Piggy showcases more than 50 bbq competition teams from across the country.  Furthermore, according to WBTV it is one of the largest events sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.  The Jiggy With the Piggy website adds that guests can sample competing teams' bbq with the purchase of a $10 ticket for the People's Choice Pork Tasting contest.  Also, Jiggy With The Piggy features arts and crafts vendors, as well as a 5K, fireworks and rides.  Plus, if you feel adventurous try some axe throwing.

On Saturday and Sunday during the event, catch the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers game and post-game fireworks.  The Jiggy With The Piggy festival is rain or shine and free to the public.  And, pets are not allowed.  Wristbands for rides can be purchased.  And, proceeds benefit the Kannapolis Rotary Club and Youth Council.  Plus, there is a link to purchase Jiggy With The Piggy apparel on the festival website.  So, make sure you plan ahead for the popular Jiggy With the Piggy festival coming to North Carolina in May.  And, definitely attend the Travis Denning concert on Friday, May 5.  Hey, how can you go wrong with award-winning barbeque and fantastic country music?!  Check their website for more details and a full schedule.
