Charlotte North Carolina’s Discovery Place To Host Marvel Superheroes Exhibit
I loved being a dad to a little boy. We had so much fun together. That being said, I REALLY LOVE being a dad to a young man coming into his own. Our relationship is so much deeper and on a different level. Mostly, this is true because of all we did together when he was a boy. There’s not much that makes me say, “Oh, I wish he was little again so we could…” This is one of those things.
Our mutual love of superheroes and superhero movies has been well documented on this blog. We would be standing in line on day one for the doors to open when Discovery Place opens their “Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes” exhibit on May 14. According to WSOC-TV it will feature more than three hundred pieces of Marvels original art, props, and costumes. A lot of which has never been displayed publicly.
“Our show begins with the origins of the Marvel Universe and moves through to the present day, giving a chance to see some of the rarest and most precious objects from the past 80 years of pop culture history, and pointing toward the future with work from some of today’s foremost creators,” curator Ben Saunders said in a news release.
Now, don’t put this off if you’re a fan. There is a sense of urgency here. The “Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes” exhibit will only be here thru September 4 and Discovery Place is THE ONLY stop in the Southeastern United States. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 23).
