Burnt Human Remains Found Inside Car Trunk In North Carolina Small Town
Charred human remains were recovered from a burning vehicle in Ellerbe, NC Monday morning.
Your Daily Journal says yesterday morning a citizen summoned the police to the crime scene. A vehicle that had been set on fire was parked on Covington Community Rd.
Chief Deputy Jay Childers said a deputy responded to the area where the burnt car was parked. While trying to get identifying information on the vehicle the deputy made a horrific discovery. What appeared to be charred human remains were found in the trunk area.
Law enforcement officials removed the burnt human remains from the trunk. The body has been sent to the N.C. Chief Medical Examiners Office to try to find out who the deceased might be.
