Despite inflation and tighter budgets for many of us, one North Carolina county is seeing big growth in new homes.  According to WCNC, hundreds of new homes will be popping up in Rowan County.  The cities at the center of growth are Salisbury and East Spencer.  Apparently, the area between Charlotte and Greensboro is attractive to builders and buyers due to location.  The little town of East Spencer welcomes the progress, according to town officials.

And, growth explosions of new homes takes place in nearby Salisbury, as well.  The downtown area is seeing apartments going in.  The developments described sound similar to ones we see in the Lake Norman and Fort Mill area.  In those, apartments sit above businesses in cute little retail and restaurant communities.  And, apparently there's a possibility a vacant hotel in Salisbury might see some changes, too.

It's always nice to see smaller, older communities like East Spencer and others getting new life.  As communities thrive and grow, so does the economy typically.  Of course, with home developments,  sometimes traffic concerns also grow.  Officials addressed those worries as well.  WCNC reports the town hopes to make changes to allow better access to I-85.  So, we'll keep a watch on this story as it unfolds and this North Carolina county sees new home growth.
