I remember going to Sears with my mom when I was a little girl to buy my Girl Scout outfits. My husband and I bought our first piece of furniture at Sears. So, this news is nostalgic for many of us. Sears is closing their last department store in North Carolina.
The Sears store at Friendly Center in Greensboro is closing their iconic doors. It is the last of what was a huge department store chain in North Carolina. A specific date for the closure has not been announced but a banner has been placed at the front of the store. One good thing about this goodbye is there are plenty of sales going on at that Greensboro location.
According to Channel 9, CBL properties which operates and owns the Friendly Center said plans are already underway for filling the space. Not going to lie it makes me sad. It sort of feels like another part of my childhood is going away. But I must admit I have not been to a Sears in a very long time. I guess many people haven’t. Sears is closing their last department store in North Carolina. To learn more about this story get all the details from Channel 9 right here.
6 Fun Things To Do In Greensboro North Carolina
My husband and his best friend play golf pretty much every weekend. And, every now and then they take their game on the road. This past weekend the tournament took place in Greensboro, North Carolina. So, the wives decided to accompany the guys and make an adventure out of it. And, we always find things to do while they golf. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I figured I’d share the 6 fun things we did during our visit to Greensboro!
We typically like to plan things in advance. However, sometimes we prefer to just strike out on a whim and see where we land. As long as we have a ride and navigation we can have a good time anywhere. We headed out super early Saturday morning to get to the course in time for the guys’ tournament. So, we dropped them off at the course, hopped in the car and looked at each other saying, “It’s only 8 a.m., where should we go first?”
Well, we started with breakfast because that’s about the only thing open at that time of day. I began the search on my phone for places near our location in Jamestown Park. And, we always look at the reviews to make sure other people like it, too. And, that’s how we started our weekend on the hunt for our top “6 Fun Things To Do In Greensboro, North Carolina.”
