Here are two things I know for sure about Wednesday, May 17.  One, Debbie's driving.  Two, I need to make sure the powers that be know I'm not coming in on Thursday, May 18th.  The reason for both? "Whiskey After Dark York Co. 2023" is coming to Ft. Mill.

This event is a huge annual deal in Charleston and now, it's coming to our area. The world's top whiskey ambassadors are descending upon York County courtesy of The Local Palate (in partnership with Breakthru Beverage). You can sample more than 100 whiskeys including bourbons and scotches. Also, for those not so into those, there will be plenty of seltzer and craft beer selections as well.

And you can't have an event with just beverages alone, can you? Of course not! Foodies, you need to mark Whiskey After Dark York Co. on your calendar as well. According to eventbrite.com, a host of award-winning chefs will be dishing up their takes on small bites that pair with the featured spirits. Some of the chefs involved include:

-Chris Coleman of Goodyear House in Charlotte, North Carolina and Old Town in Rock Hill, South Carolina
-Matt Baker of Gravitas in Washington DC
-Eric Burleson of Eldr in Asheville, North Carolina
-Chris Reynolds of The Imperial in Washington DC
-Jordan Keen of Beach Shop & Grill in Top Sail, North Carolina
-Tyler Lee of Leroy Springs & Co. in Fort Mill, South Carolina

Whiskey After Dark York Co. is a 21+ event (ID will be checked at the door).  Doors open for general admission at 6:30pm.

9 Simple 3-Ingredient Cocktails Sure To Impress Your Guests

It can be so easy to host a party (or come home after a long day) and just open some wine or a beer. Or maybe you want some liquor but take the easy route with a vodka soda or Jack and Coke. But what if you could up your cocktail game with minimal extra effort? And in doing so feel and seem a whole lot fancier. That's right, there are plenty of simple 3-ingredient cocktails that won't take you any time to make. But they will take your drinks to the next level. Many of these can be made with the bar supplies you already have at home, though a couple may require a trip to the liquor store. But you probably needed to restock anyway.

One of the drinks on my list, is actually what I think will end up being my drink of summer 2023- the Aperol Spritz. You'll also find recipes for some classics, as well as some drinks you've probably ever ordered from a bar. No need to wait for date night or girls' night out to enjoy a drink. No matter what kind of liquor you prefer one of these simple cocktails is sure to be your new go-to!
