South Carolina Peach Festival Welcomes One Of Our Favorite Major Country Stars

Summer festivals begin to announce their headliners and ticket sales.  And, the South Carolina Peach Festival welcomes a major country star to their lineup this summer.  Lainey Wilson is set to perform on July 14, according to Fox Carolina.  The festival dates run from July 12-22.  But, tickets become available during pre-sale April 27 at 10 a.m.

The South Carolina Peach Festival takes place in Gaffney each year.  And, events include new talent night, praise and worship, a dessert contest and of course music.  Plus, as with any good festival you can expect crafts, a carnival and delicious food.  Along with Lainey Wilson, Drew Parker performs, too.

Also, what would a festival be without a parade?  The South Carolina Peach Festival has one of those, as well!  In browsing the website, I found a dog show and wrestling on the schedule.  And, there’s a complete guide on their site for events, how to get tickets, how to enter various events and how to become a sponsor.

You may ask yourself why are peaches such an important part of the state.  Well, according to agriculture.sc.gov, South Carolina averages more than three times the amount in pounds of peaches harvested in Georgia during a typical season.  And, the South Carolina Peach Festival celebrates that harvest every July.

And, who hasn’t passed through Gaffney and noticed that enormous peach tower in the sky?  So, it makes sense South Carolina loves their peaches.  The annual festival began in 1977 and continues strong.  Plus, with heavy hitting talent like Lainey Wilson it’s sure to be quite the event.  Not only has Lainey’s music career skyrocketed, she’s become a popular addition to the hit show “Yellowstone.”  So, get ready to enjoy some stellar country music and delicious peaches!

Who doesn’t love a good festival? It’s a great excuse to visit a new town across our state. And luckily there is no shortage of engaging festivals taking place in North Carolina in 2023. Whether you’re looking for small-town fun celebrating some of what makes our state great, or huge festivals we’ve got something for you. Many North Carolina festivals celebrate foods that are important to their local area. One celebrates everything North Carolina has to offer. You’ve got arts and crafts vendors, lots and lots of food, beer and wine, rides and other activities for kids, 5Ks, and more.

Events are spread all throughout the state so you’re sure to find one that’s near you. Or if you want an excuse to travel (do you ever really need one?) plan a trip! North Carolina has so much to offer and many of these small towns might be overlooked by you without the draw of these events. Festivals take place throughout the year. So plan a visit this year and experience something new! If you need me I’ll be at the fair food booth trying a new concoction of fried treats. Or shopping from local vendors.

Also, a juried competition includes artists and craftsmen from across the country.  Seven stages of entertainment showcase local and national artists. The festival is for people of all ages and includes a special section of rides and games for children, the Barbecue Carnival & Family Area.     What To Expect: This fabulous arts and fine crafts festival takes place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Come and see the best artists and crafters as they line our historic streets with beautiful fine art and handmade crafts.  The show, which is a juried craft show, represents some of the finest crafters in the Southeast.  Pottery, jewelry, paintings, stained glass, fiber, carvings, photography, sculpture and metal work are just a few of the crafts represented at this annual event.
