Wells Fargo Championship Hosting Celebrity Putting Challenge

The Wells Fargo Championship is the premier event in the Charlotte area.  Every town as their “thing.”  The annual moment where it puts its best foot forward and shines.  Professional golf’s annual pilgrimage to Quail Hollow Club is the Queen City’s.  One of the reasons why is the millions the tournament raises/donates for local charities.  That generosity gets started on Monday of next week with a “Celebrity Putting Challenge.”

We will be joined at this event by the likes of Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, NASCAR’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr., former Carolina Panthers Jonathan Stewart and Greg Olsen, Charlotte Hornets coach Steve Clifford and several other members of the local media.  Each participant is putting for their own cause.  Our radio family has been rocked this spring by a true tragedy.  In response to this, we will be looking to raise money for the North Carolina Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  This event is free and open to the public and we’d love to have your support on Monday during your lunch hour.

This Celebrity Putting Challenge isn’t the first time the tournament has provided an outlet for us to contribute to charity.  For two years prior to the tournament’s cancellation during the pandemic, Quail Hollow Club hosted a media “The Green Mile Challenge.”  How did that go?
