Here is a fun fact about me. I grew up in Shelby, North Carolina about three miles from the Shelby City Park. I met my best friend Cathy in a sandbox at the park when we were two. We are still best friends to this day. The Shelby City Park is magical to me. Here’s what you need to know about the Merry- Go Round Festival in Shelby.
I love that they restored the Merry- Go- Round there several years ago. That and the train at the Shelby City Park are hallmarks of my childhood. It is wonderful that kids today can still get the same experience. This would be a great weekend to head to Shelby and enjoy a whole festival surrounding the iconic kid rides and so much more.
The 2 day Merry- Go- Round Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at the Shelby City Park, 85 West Sumter Street. The cost is ten dollars for the whole day. There will be thrill rides, food vendors and of course kiddie rides. Celebrities like Anna and Elsa, Spiderman and Captain America will be on hand as well as musical entertainment. Sounds like so much fun! To learn more get details right here from the Shelby Star.
Oh, I see Shelby is also mentioned as one of the best placed to get barbecue! Check out the list below.
