Egg Prices About To Make A Big Move
After climbing to a record $5.46 in December, the average price of a dozen eggs has dropped all the way down to $1.26 in some areas.CNBC reports that experts say it’s still got a way to go.
According to a report from market research firm Urner Barry, the wholesale price of a dozen eggs is expected to fall to $1 in the next few weeks. That will mark the lowest price in nearly two years.
Since December, the price of a dozen eggs has decreased by 78 percent. Brian Moscogiuri, global trade strategist at Eggs Unlimited says “Prices have collapsed beyond the expectation of the industry at this point.”
