This year the theme of Nurses Month is “You Make A Difference,” and each week is going to be epic. For instance, focusing on self-care for one week. The second week is about recognition, and the third week is about professional development. and lastly community engagement. As many of us have learned, self-care is vital in the nursing profession. This year marks the 21st year that Nursing has been recognized by Gallup as the highest-rated profession for honesty and ethics. Meka Douthit Ingram is the President of the North Carolina Nurses Association and always shares inspiring stories about nursing. As the 55th President of the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) Meka represents North Carolina’s 155,000 phenomenal Registered Nurses.
