This is a great event just in time for Mother’s Day. Driving to work a billboard caught my eye. And, it advertised that a beloved actor and children’s author plans to read and sign books in North Carolina soon. Charlotte’s Billy Graham Library hosts Kirk Cameron Saturday, May 13 for two readings and a signing.
The actor and father of 6 is set to read his book As You Grow at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. And, the signing takes place in the Billy Graham Library lobby at 3 p.m. The website says the signing is free and no reservations are required. However, there is a limit of two signed books per guest. And, one of the books must be As You Grow. Visitors find the books available for purchase in Ruth’s Attic on the library grounds. Or, you can bring your own copy.
Also, tickets to story time are available for purchase online at $22.99 plus tax. The ticket allows up to two accompanying adults and two accompanying children. It also includes a signed copy of the book.
This is a great event to enjoy with the family this Mother’s Day weekend. And, having visited the Billy Graham Library it is a beautiful venue. There’s plenty to do and see at the 40,000 square foot property. The barn shaped building just miles from where Billy Graham grew up in Charlotte is striking. And, touring the Graham family home place is really very interesting. The restoration of the home is quite impressive.
So, take a look at the website and make plans for this one of a kind opportunity as a beloved actor and children’s author reads and signs books at this North Carolina event.
The Experts Say These Are The 13 Best Things To Do In Charlotte North Carolina
Often times when you live somewhere it’s easy to get complacent and not take advantage of everything that location has to offer. And this list proves that for sure. I’ve lived in Charlotte for most of my life and still haven’t checked off everything on this list. And some of them I haven’t done since the school field trip days. This list, the 13 best things to do in Charlotte, was compiled by US News and World Report. It contains what their experts perceive as the best attractions in Charlotte. The heavy hitter tourist attractions of course made the list, though not all in the spots I would have guessed. Popular shopping areas Southpark Mall and Concord Mills mall were noticeably (at least to this shopping addict) missing.
And it also includes a few “under the radar” places that you may not have thought of as the best things to do in Charlotte. This includes a park, several museums, and even a food hall. So they next you find yourself bored and not sure what to do, give this list a look over and explore your city. You may just find your new favorite spot. Or be reminded of an old favorite you’d forgotten about. After all #CharlottesGotALot.
